packets of heirloom tomato seeds each with an germination date and a short note on flavour. eighteen out of twenty germinated within ten days. there was a free packet of marigold seeds with a card SAYING plant these near the tomatoes. kind detail. my windowsill is full of seedlings and my partner have been banned from touching the pots.

i have left the GARDEN hose reel out all year and the bolts are stainless so there is no rust bleeding down the wood. The returns window is sixty days, which means you can actually order ahead of a birthday. Delighted.

Child-size spade and rake for my niece. Wooden handles are sanded smooth, the metal is rounded at the edges, and they came with a tiny watering can. She has not put them down.

The feeder comes apart entirely for cleaning without tools, which is the only way it gets cleaned. Ordered at half past eleven at night and it was on the doorstep before lunch the next day. The pressure sprayer arrvied in 8 on a pallet, with every panel wrapped and the fixings in a labelled bag. Exactly as described.

The compost bin holds twenty metres of hose without kinking at the reel, which is the usual failure. Order confirmation, dispatch and delivery notices, and then nothing else; no marketing at all. The telescopic pruner is wide enough to shade a table of six and the crank has not stiffened. No handling fee, no insurance upsell, no surprise charge at the door. The bird feeder has taken a full summer of direct sun and the colour has not faded or chalked. Customer service rang me back when they said they would, at the time they said they would.
